We entered our visit to Lake Como with high hopes that was going to be our next home, it was checked all the boxes; centrally located, access to water and mountain activities, charming towns with lovely restaurants, close to Milan, seasons, and stunning natural surroundings. We arrived full of hope and expectations. And the beauty did not disappoint.

Change of Plans

Part way through our week of assessing how everyday life felt in Lake Como, we started feeling small challenges. For example, we got terribly lost trying to locate the house for the viewing with the real estate agent. The roads became busy and rushed with impatient drivers. And we could even feel the hum of tourism.

We were not able to find any houses that matched up with what we were looking for, so it was back to the drawing board with homes searches. Hours later after scouring the real-estate web sites we had a solid list of candidates up north.

And off we went, spending the last week up in the northern Alps of Italy.
